Helping friends whom disabled with Thaitel.com During August - September 2006 everytimes buying one card, 2 cents will be donated to Thai Disabled Development Foundation. It is a great opportunity to give disabled person a chance to have an equal opportunity to live as a normal person.
To volunteer to do things for disabled persons does not making them pleased everytimes. Because many of disabled persons, they prefer to help themselves to live as normal person. They do not want to be discriminated from the society and what they do actually need are those facilities like slope path or toilet for disabled person. They would love to roll wheelchair by themselves instead of asking someone to push it. As they have been showing their abilities in many ways. Such as in sport, as we have seen in FESPIC Game, the disable persons show their spirit and ability in sport. They could play many sports like athletics, basketball or even swimming.
From these reason, Thaitel.com have been considering about campaign that can help disabled person and it must be what they are willing to take. Then we come up with a donation campaign which is during August - September 2006, everytime one card purchased, 2 cents will be donated to Thai Disabled Development Foundation. This donation would be used in building facilities for disabled person and lift up the quality of life for disabled person to live as one normal person.
Background
The
Thai Disabled Development Foundation was established in December 14,
1999. Regarding to the time when Thailand was a host of the 7th
FESPIC Game during 10 – 16 January 1999, Mr. Banharn Silpa-archa
was invited to be the Chairman of the Organizing Committee.
He raised public awareness and drawn spirit from Thai citizens
with a TV charity program. This program encouraged Thai people to
participate in developing the ability of Thai disabled persons to be
excellent in athletics. This will provide a chance for their
potential development, medication, education, occupation, social, and
living effectively and proudly in the society. After the successful
game, he determined to pursue empowering persons with disabilities
toward sustainable development by establishing this Foundation.
Objectives
- To
support, promote an equal opportunity and full participation for
disabled persons.
- To
support sustainable development of disabled persons by means of
medical, educational and social rehabilitation, including sports,
recreation and cultural activities.
- To
promote information service and other academic works relating to
development of disabled persons.
- To
operate for public charity or co-operate with other charity
organizations for public charity.

In following the King's way of living kindness to the street dogs, the Foundation would like to ask people to give love and warmth to the street dogs by letting the street dogs to be a member of your family. This will also decrease the social problem arising from the stray dogs that are frowned upon by certain people.

Dr. Amporn felt he had to put off retirement and return to his life of helping others to form a new organization called it the Foundation For Rehabilitation & Development of Children and Family, hence, FORDEC. The foundation was formed on Saturday, February 14, 1998, St. Valentine's Day.

Media of Medias Co, Ltd (Corporation) decided to launch the Thai Eye Charity Campaign, "KRONG KRAN NUM JAI THAI HAI DOUNG TA", to provide the medical examination and treatment, and the free optical surgery for the cataract sufferer. The cataract can causes the bilndness but there are about 200,000 patients are left behind from the medical surgery.
