Technical
Help |
| |
Q:
Why the other end can hear me, but I can't hear anything (One
way communication) |
| |
A:
First of all, please check your speakers. If your speakers is
ok, the problem comes from the IP address problem.
MSN-to-Phone is available for real IP or NAT IP only. Normally, if you
dial directly from your PC Modem, you will absolutely get
the real IP. But if you are using LAN (Local
Area Network), your IP might possibly be real IP (Public IP), NAT IP
or Private assigned IP.
|
| |
* How to find your IP |
| |
Click at Start button at the left
bottom of your screen. |
| |
-
Choose ' run ', then type "command"
(see the illustrations below) |
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
-
A window will be pop then type "ipconfig"
(see the illustrations
below) |
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
- Your IP address will be appear (see the illustrations
below) |
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
*
How to check if it's real IP or Private assigned IP.
Go to http://hostpulse.com/app/networktools/ping.asp
to check your IP. Type your IP in the "Enter
Domain Box" then click GO (see the
picture no.1) , if your IP is a Public
IP you can see the status of your IP is runing as
a bytes (see the pictuer no.2) but if your
IP is Private IP it will show "Request
timed out" (see the pictuer no.3) |
| |
|
| |

|
| |
|
| |

|
| |
|
| |

|
| |
|

* If you still have problem about your IP,
please correct by the following
1. Dial Up directly from your computer modem
2. Contact your administrator to get real IP
(Public IP) or NAT IP |

Q:
When I use MSN-to-Phone why the sound is not so good |
| |
A:
The good sound quality depends on your internet connection.
Please check speed & quality of your Internet connection.
|
| |

| |
|
| |
Q:
Why do I hear echoing/delay? |
| |
A:
This echo or delay occurs when your friend's voice is carried
from his or her phone, through your speakers, then through your
microphone, and is finally transmitted back to your friend.
The best solution to use a headset. This will let you talk without
any echo. |
| |
|
| |
- If you use a headset to make calls, you will
not be faced with the sound problem. When you speak through
the headset your voice will go directly to your party, and you
will hear the other party’s voice from the computer through
your headset as well. (see the illustrations below) |
| |
1. MSN-to-phone with Headset. |
| |
 |
| |
|
| |
- If you use a microphone and speakers for
making calls, your voice will go through the other party,
but when the other party replies, his/her voice would be heard
from your speaker, and may cause feedback (going back into
the microphone from the speakers and transmitting it back
to the other party resulting in an echo). As a result, both
you and the other party will hear an echo. (see the
illustrations below) |
| |
2. MSN-to-phone without Headest. |
